How to Apply Lemon Juice to Pimple Scars

|

Lemon juice is widely used for a number of things other than lemonade. One of its primary benefits is as a treatment for your skin. Lemon juice can make your skin lighter, and it's also been proven as a redness-reducer when applied to swollen pimples. Another benefit is its use as an acne scar reducer, which works in two ways: You can drink lemon juice to infuse your body with Vitamin C, or you can apply it topically to scars to reduce their visibility.

Step 1
  • Clean off the scar with water and a soft cloth to remove dirt, dust and oil.
Step 2
  • Soak a cotton swab with 1 tsp. of lemon juice and dab it onto your pimple scars. The Vitamin C and acid in the lemon juice lighten your skin and infuse it with nutrients, gradually lightening the scar over time.
Step 3
  • Allow the juice to sit for at least 10 minutes on your face, then rinse with water and pat dry.
Step 4
  • Repeat this treatment once a day for two to three weeks, or until you see improvement in the visibility of your pimple scars.
Step 5
  • Wear sunscreen on your skin in the days following your treatment. Lemon juice can make your skin sensitive to light, making it susceptible to burning if overexposed to the sun.
Things You'll Need
