If you want to block your users from accessing a specific website, follow the steps below.
- Select the Advanced tab
- Select Filters
- Select the radio button "URL Blocking"
- Select "Black List"
- Enable the filter
- Enter the keyword that you want banned from being in the URL. If you do not type ".com", then the filter will ban any website that has "facebook" as part of its web address. This will block other elements of a web page, too, including images that contain the text "facebook" in their filename or URL. It does not appear to block javascript, though. If you want to be more specific, type in "facebook.com".
- Click on the Apply button.
As an example, let's say you want to block your users from using Facebook. |
Now when your users try to access Facebook, their web browser will time out and they will not be able to access the site.
Most other sites should load up and be unaffected, as long as their URL does not contain the keyword you entered in your filter.
