Samsung has announced that the Galaxy S smartphone running the Android operating system has sold 10 million units in the first 6 months it has been available.
That's pretty impressive considering that Apple has moved about 14.1 million of their iPhone 4 devices between July and September 2010. Let's face it, Apple is the undisputed leader at this point, but selling 10 million of anything is reason to celebrate.
From someone who has been using a Samsung device since October, I can definitely vouch for the quality. I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I entered the world of Android, but I've been very happy with both the hardware and the operating system since I switched over from my Palm Pre.
