The Windows Phone Developer Toolkit has been launched in English. It will be releasing in French, Italian, German and Spanish language versions in the next two weeks.
This news comes as a big surprise for Windows 7 apps and games developer as the expected release would have been much later, probably even six months from the launch date of the Windows 7 phone. In order for developers to create their apps and place it into the marketplace, they will need to download this version of the tools.
Disappointingly, any application that was built with a previous version of the tools will fail application certification in the Marketplace. Developers will need to wait for five days in order for their application to pass certification. However the developer apps forum enables one to look at the status of their application. In order for your application to clear certification make sure that you abide by the guidelines of the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace policies.

There are a couple of important highlights of the release of the new toolkit among which the development of the apps has taken center stage. In a recent meeting amongst the developers emphasis was given to develop life like applications which will enable the windows phone 7 to get a greater market share. There have been proposed plans to make apps like Twitter, Netflix, OpenTable, Flixster and Travelocity for the first time anywhere. We have posted the app demo videos for your enjoyment.
